This website is dedicated to..

In memory of

Atsuko Hanada Fitzpatrickmy mother and my friend.

My mother and her father spanned three centuries and many companion animals.

Edgar’s Mission

Residents of nursing homes and hostels miss the company of companion animals but a visit from farm animals is also a great recreational option.   There are many organizations which bring animals in to visit as a but none better than Edgar’s Mission.  Gentle, Polly the pig and her sheep and goat friends have won the hearts of many residents.  Run by the very dedicated Pam, as a way to support her respected work in kindness to animals, check the website or ring Pam on: 0408 397 301.

Interesting Facts

Australians regard their companion animals as part of the family. A big part. Anyone who assumes a pet is a replacement for a “real” relationship might reconsider…
A national survey of people with dogs undertaken by Purina recently showed that:
• 64% of women nominated their dog as better listener than their partner
• 86% considered their dog as more than just a pet
• One in five saw their dog as a companion for life
• Four in ten stated they’d prefer a warm welcome after a stressful day from their dog than their partner
